About the Journal
Aims and Scope. Journal of Human-Centered Digital Computing provides a focused venue for research on human-centered system design, usable intelligent systems, accessibility engineering, evidence-based interaction evaluation, socially responsible digital systems. The journal prioritizes technically substantive, internationally relevant work in which the principal novelty lies inside the stated computing scope rather than only in the application domain.
Core topics in scope include:
- human-centered system design
- usable intelligent systems
- accessibility engineering
- evidence-based interaction evaluation
- socially responsible digital systems
- human-centered computing
- interactive systems
- accessibility
- responsible technology
Evidence and methodological expectations. Submissions must demonstrate a substantive computing contribution that crosses at least two technical components, compare against current international baselines, report reproducible experimental or analytical procedures, and validate transferability beyond a single organization, city, campus, or one-off deployment.
Normally outside scope. Purely descriptive digitalization projects, routine software implementations, local case studies without transferable computing knowledge, and papers whose only novelty is combining established tools without technical analysis are normally outside scope.
Research integrity and reproducibility. Authors should disclose datasets, software, model or system configurations, experimental protocols, statistical procedures, ethical approvals where applicable, competing interests, funding, and any material use of generative AI. Data and code should be shared when legally and ethically possible, or the restriction must be explained.
